The Inclusion vs Assimilation webcast builds on the previous webcast—Understanding Diversity & Inclusion--by taking a look at the most common and fundamental barriers to actually providing an inclusive employee or stakeholder experience. Inclusion, properly understood, is inherently active. It is not a product of values or intentions, but of choices, actions and behaviors. We will consider the difference between inclusion and assimilation (introduced in the Understanding Diversity & Inclusion webcast), and specifically the roles played by unwritten rules, and unconscious or implicit bias. Participants will leave this webcast with both individual and organizational practices to implement.
